17 Juin has renewed its confidence in Opsomai for the migration of all its digital files towards a LTO-8 backup.
Since 2006, 17 Juin has been using Opsis Media software in order to describe the TV shows it produces. In 2014, Opsomai installed a full MAM platform at 17 Juin's premises with Opsis Media V3, a 80TB NAS storage provided by Digital Storage and an Overland-Tandberg LTO-6 library managed by Opsis Media's integrated HSM (Hierarchical Storage Management) module. With this enhanced platform, 17 Juin was able not only to describe its rushes and shows, but also to archive them and reuse archived assets for new productions. In 2018, 17 Juin already asked Opsomai to upgrade its storage capacity to 160TB, to manage its ever growing video archives. And in 2021, this capacity has been doubled again to 320TB, thanks to the connection of a NAS extension to the original device.
In 2021, Opsomai replaced also the Overland-Tandberg LTO-6 library that was installed in 2014 by a more recent model based on the LTO-8 technology whose capacity is 5 times bigger. Thanks to this new library and to Opsis Media's HSM module, 17 Juin's 200TB archives is currently transferred to 2 mirror sets of LTO-8 tapes, following the same migration at GP Archives, initiated by Opsomai previously in 2021.
